Loews Royal Pacific Resort, Universal Studios, Orlando

Along with the food reviews, I will occasionally include hotel reviews as well. We stayed at the Loews Royal Pacific, one of the Universal resort properties, at a rate of $299. We decided to stay on property for three reasons. First of all was the proximity to the theme parks. The Royal Pacific is located just a short and scenic 5-10 minute walk from Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.

The second benefit was front of the line privileges at the parks. When you stay at a Universal property, you have unlimited front of the line access at several of the most popular rides at both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. This works much like the fastpass at Disneyworld. The third reason we wanted to stay on property was that we had early entry privileges (1 hour) to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. These advantages definitely made the stay worth the price.

The resort itself is very beautiful and subtly themed like a Pacific island resort. Our room was spacious and comfortable and had a nice view of the pool area.

Overall rating: Spacious rooms with comfortable beds and nice theming. The price is high but the extras - proximity to the parks, front of the line privileges, and early entry - make it worth the cost.

Would you return: Definitely
