Three Broomsticks, Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Islands of Adventure, Orlando

7/03/2010

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter had only been open for a few months, and lines for all attractions, stores, and restaurants were extremely long. Lauren really wanted to eat lunch at Three Broomsticks, so she and Neil got in line before 11 a.m. to get into the restaurant.

In the Harry Potter series, Three Broomsticks is the tavern and inn in Hogsmeade where students and staff gather. The restaurant at Universal Studios is just like you may have imagined it from the books. The menu includes traditional English pub fare, such as fish and chips, shepherd's pie, and Cornish pasties.

Neil ordered the shepherd's pie served with a garden ($9.99):

The shepherd's pie was made with ground beef and lots of vegetables. It had a nice flavor and the mashed potato topping was good as well. It was really hot and steamy. The side salad was crisp and fresh, very good for a counter service side salad. It included tomatoes, cucumbers, and croutons.

Lauren had a lemonade ($2.49) and the fish and chips ($11.99):

There were three big pieces of fish, which were crisp on the outside and hot and flaky inside. The tarter sauce included was creamy and nice. The fries, or chips, were like steak fries and a little bit on the limp side. This was a big portion, and Lauren couldn't finish all of it.

Overall rating: Tasty counter service with a good menu

Would you return: Yes
